The story of Kevin Nagle
Nagle was born in Moorhead, Minnesota, in 1954 and raised by a single mother in Long Beach. He earned a bachelor’s degree at Cal State Long Beach and a master’s in business and public administration at USC, then spent 13 years in management at The Upjohn Company.
In 2001 he co-founded Envision Pharmaceutical Holdings (EnvisionRx) and led it as CEO until 2014. Rite Aid bought Envision in 2015 for $2.3 billion. In 2011 he helped the effort to keep the Kings in Sacramento by raising $10 million in sponsorships in ten days, and he joined the Ranadivé-led ownership in 2013.
His group took over Republic FC on May 15, 2017. In November 2024 the Wilton Rancheria tribe became the club’s majority owner, the first tribal nation to hold majority ownership of a men’s professional team, with Nagle staying on as managing partner. A 20,000-seat stadium in the Railyards is planned to open by 2028. Since 2023 he has also owned England’s Huddersfield Town.
